Leal Med Cards: Die cut inserts

Die-cut cards for stabilising devices within medical packaging.

The cards are engineered supports designed to ensure the secure fixation of sharp devices such as needles, surgical instruments and stylets, preserving their integrity and sterility. Their structure enables effective organisation of various instruments and components, ensuring practicality across different applications.
In particular, they can be used to:

  • keep pre-filled devices, such as syringes, in place, facilitating order and accessibility during use,

  • secure multiple devices at the same time and highlight any sensors so that they are easily identifiable by the user,

  • stably lock a filter or device within a medical kit, ensuring stability and usability during preparation and use.

Materials

Sustainability, protection, reliability.

Leal Med Cards are available in different materials, from polypropylene to polyethylene to laminated materials, so as to meet different application needs. Each card is custom developed by the R&D department, which works on customer requirements and geometry optimization to ensure reliable and functional medical packaging. This approach allows us to precisely define the most suitable material, evaluating aspects such as:

  • Strength and mechanical behavior during device attachment;
  • Compatibility with planned sterilization processes;
  • need for rigidity, flexibility or specific protection;
  • useful thicknesses, finishes and couplings to enhance the functionality of the kit.

Leal Med Cards fit as a strategic element within the group’s roadmap, geared toward the development of increasingly sustainable and innovative solutions for the medical packaging of the future, with an increasing focus on material reduction and responsible design.

Leal Med Cards are the sustainable evolution of medical packaging.

They represent an innovative solution designed to ensure maximum protection of the device inside the package and prevent the risk of damage to the sterile barrier (SBS).

One of the main features is sustainability, which is conceived as a key product specification: the intelligent design allows for a significant reduction in the amount of material used, making a concrete contribution to reducing environmental impact.

In addition, Leal Med Cards can be made from recycled and recyclable materials without compromising the technical performance or safety of the device they are meant to protect.
